After this unit, students will be able to:
- Calculate scale factors and use them to solve problems involving scale drawings, scale models, and map scales.
- Calculate the area of triangles using the appropriate formula.
- Calculate the area and circumference of circles using the appropriate formulas and understand their relationship.
- Find the area of composite figures made up of various polygons.
- Identify and apply the relationships between supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles to solve for unknown angles in plane geometry.
- Apply the Triangle Inequality Theorem to determine if sets of side lengths can form a triangle.
- Identify and describe the two-dimensional figures resulting from the cross sections of various three-dimensional figures.

Before this unit, students should be familiar with:
- Understanding of basic geometric shapes such as triangles, rectangles, squares, and circles
- Knowledge of basic angle types (right, acute, obtuse)
- Familiarity with basic measurement units for length, area, and angles
