Pixel Art Resources

Pixel art activities are built in Google Sheets and check themselves. A student solves a problem, types the answer into the cell, and conditional formatting responds on the spot — correct answers unlock part of a hidden mystery picture, so a student who is off track finds out during the lesson instead of after it. That is the difference between this collection and a worksheet: nobody is carrying a class set home on Monday.

Coverage runs 4th through 8th grade — place value, whole number and decimal operations and fractions at the lower end, then ratios and rates, percents, integers and rational numbers, expressions and equations, linear equations and functions, transformations, the Pythagorean theorem, area, surface area and volume, statistics and probability. Most activities name the Common Core standard they cover, and you can narrow the grid by grade, unit, season or holiday.

Many topics come in seasonal versions — fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, winter, Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, spring — asking the same math behind different artwork, which is what makes them work as the lesson before a break without losing the day.

Students need a device and a Google account; nothing installs. If your room is print-based, some topics also ship as digital and print bundles that pair the pixel art with printable guided notes and doodle and color by number worksheets.
