This bundle includes 5 activities + BONUS exploring decimals and money, reviewing adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, as well as applying decimals to real life applications for running a hotel, budgeting for a wedding, and finding discounts.

Math Missions

• Hotel Math: Fraction, Decimal, Percent Word Problems – Real World Math Project. Students practice decimals (as well as fractions, and percents) to managing the Beach House Inn. It's compatible with EASEL, and includes an autograding Google Form.

• Vending Machine Math — Real World Math Project Over the course of 5 tasks, your students will calculate change from vending machine, purchasing items, stock the vending machine, and then design their own vending machine. These tasks cover both the basic mechanics of using a vending machine, as well as the business concepts of operating a vending machine (e.g. profit). It applies math, critical thinking, and creativity to a real-life application. This is a pdf product.

• Wedding Math: Money & Decimal Operations — Middle School Budgeting Project. Students play the role of a wedding planner, applying decimals to budgeting for a wedding, selecting a caterer, venue, photographer, and cake. It's compatible with EASEL.

Doodle Math

• Multiply Decimals. Students practice multiplying decimals times whole numbers, unlocking patterns that can be doodled onto a nautical image.

• Adding and Subtracting Decimals. Students practice adding and subtracting decimals, unlocking patterns that can be doodled onto a geometric image.

• BONUS: Percent: Tips, Sale Price, Discount with Double Number Line. Students get more real-world money practice, using double number lines to compute tips, sale price, and discounts. (They end up with a really cute astronaut image.)

What is Doodle Math?

Every Doodle Math activity is a print-and-go time-saver:

1. Print out the worksheet. It has a series of math problems to solve, and space for students to show their work.

2. Students solve the problems. Each answer unlocks a pattern, which students can doodle onto a template image.

3. Turn math into a masterpiece. The completed image will match the answer key once all of their answers are correct – and it's easy to spot-check from a distance.

The completed image will look best when students use markers in their choice of colors but can be completed with pencil or pen in a pinch!
