Doodle & Color by Number Resources

These are art-integrated math worksheets. Students work a set of problems, and each answer tells them what to color or doodle in the matching section of the design, so the math and the artwork are one task. That is the point of the collection — it engages students beyond just teaching math, and it opens a new pathway for higher-needs students who will stay with a page that ends in something they made. Problems are built on grade-level standards, with CCSS alignment listed on each product page.

Coverage runs from 4th through 8th grade and is weighted toward middle school: evaluating expressions and combining like terms, one- and two-step equations and inequalities, decimal, fraction and rational number operations, ratios, rates and percents, angle relationships and plane geometry, surface area and volume, exponents and scientific notation, linear equations and functions, and statistics and probability.

Many topics also come in seasonal editions — Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and Easter, plus general fall, winter and spring sets — running the same problems behind different artwork, so the lesson before a break is still a lesson.

Everything prints black and white on plain paper; students supply the color, and answer keys are included — which is what makes these work for a sub day, an early-finisher folder, or homework.
